About IdeaScale:

IdeaScale is the world’s largest innovation management software that uses crowdsourcing so that organizations can find and develop great ideas. Enterprise companies and government groups use it to gather ideas from their employees, customers, and citizens and workshop those ideas into implemented, shovel-ready projects.

IdeaScale’s customers include NASA, EA Sports, Citrix and more. They are based in Berkeley, CA.

The problem:

As a digital native, IdeaScale has built its business on a 100% inbound marketing mechanism with multiple inbound channels and conversion points. However, it had never launched a pay-per-click program.  Facing increased competition in the space, IdeaScale was looking to increase their lead volume through digital marketing. In-house managed search campaigns hadn’t been successful in the past.

They decided to launch an initial test program in 2016 with the goals of increasing their brand exposure and generating 5% total top-line lead growth from PPC leads within the year. In order to meet those goals, IdeaScale turned to Level Up Digital.

Solution:

After a consultation and audit, we rebuilt their paid search campaigns and remarketing efforts from the ground up. Implementing custom landing pages with a PDF download strategy to get contact information from prospects to hand off to IdeaScale’s sales team.

Tracking through IdeaScale’s CRM was implemented, to tie their digital efforts to real prospects entering into the sales pipeline.

What We've Achieved

  • In less than six months, IdeaScale reported top-line lead growth in excess of 10% due to PPC marketing efforts (more than double their expectations in half the time).

  • With minimal discovery time and investment, IdeaScale also enjoyed 89% search impression share in their market. The team also linked several live sales opportunities to pay-per-click programs that more than paid for the initial investment.
